Level: Beginner

This is the FOUNDATION of foundation classes! Learning to create glass beads is the best starting point, especially if you have zero experience. Each student will create single color beads and move into adding dots, lines, and making different shaped beads.

Beadmaking is the first class in our Foundations series. At least one of our Foundation courses should be taken before signing up for our more intermediate/advanced courses, such as Intro to Blowing Glass on a Torch and our Intro to Sculpting Glass on a Torch. We require each student to have some familiarity with glass before signing up for these two workshops.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT CLASS: If you do decide to register, you’ll need to know/bring the following:

* A pair of UV-protected sunglasses

* Tie your hair back if it’s long

* Wear comfortable, cotton clothing (synthetics are flammable) and closed-toe shoes

* Bring a bottle of water

COVID POLICIES: As a general rule of thumb, please do not come to class if you know you are sick or running a fever.

PICKING UP YOUR WORK: Glass needs to cool properly so there’s a 24 hour wait time for pick up. Any work left at the studio after 30 days will be considered abandoned. For the sake of keeping our small studio spacious and organized, abandoned items will be discarded appropriately.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Tuition IS refundable up to 24 hours before the scheduled class date…at which time the entire amount becomes NON-REFUNDABLE. Please make note of this.
