Bracelet Making with Kevin O'Grady

thumbnail_KevinOGrady_014.jpg

This class is not-to-be missed…clearly because the first workshop sold out in 35 minutes! Kevin is one of the real masters in the industry - he developed the “vortex” glass technique and was one of the first to use dichroic glass and pushed the limits of fuming with precious metals. In this 4-day class, Kevin will show us how he creates a variety of his one-of-a-kind bracelets. We will learn about fuming with silver and gold, blending & layering color, and how to strike color in a kiln. Kevin will also touch on how to properly use a bracelet mandrel, which is one of the most incorrectly used tools!). Some experience is required to get the most from this class (intermediate to advanced level). Students must bring proper eyewear and any tools they like to use. If you prefer to use your own torch, a medium-sized torch will work fine.

Lunch will be provided each day of the workshop.

Workshop #2 is 4 days, May 31 - June 3 (REGISTER HERE).

Total cost of the workshop is $1,100.00 per person. A $500.00 deposit is required to secure your spot. Please note that $250.00 of the tuition is non-refundable.

  • Pollack Glass Studio & Gallery (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This month we are teaming up with our friends at Beads of Courage.  We are super excited to be a participating studio in this year's Beads of Courage bead drive!

Starting at 10am and going until 8pm.

Beads of Courage is a great organization! The Program is a "resilience-based intervention designed to support and strengthen children and families coping with serious illness. Through the program children tell their story using colorful beads as meaningful symbols of courage that commemorate milestones they have achieved along their unique treatment path."

There will be food, drinks, live lamp working demonstrations, a table available for more information on the program, a cash donation jar (we have a $1,000 cash donation goal!), and plenty of artists to chat with, all while giving back to a great cause. Come by and say hello any time between 10am and 8pm! Visit our Facebook page for more information.

If you are a flame worker, you may come and create glass beads to donate and we will send them to Beads of Courage. If you are interested in being an artist-participant, please contact us and we will send you the logistics.
