Explorations in Hollow Form & Pattern
November 6th - 8th, 2026
10am - 5pm daily
Course Description:
We are super excited to finally welcome back Beau to our studio! This intermediate to advanced workshop is designed for artists with prior experience working in borosilicate glass who are ready to expand their technical control and creative range through the use of tubing and blown forms.
Students will explore a range of surface and internal decoration techniques, including dots, lines, frit, and fuming, along with a more nuanced approach to color, examining the working characteristics of various hues and how to maximize their potential in the flame. Color theory will be integrated throughout as a tool for more intentional design.
Technical processes covered include pulling and prepping points, attaching and working from blow tubes, and executing controlled forms with consistency. The workshop will also introduce small-scale incalmo and incorporate techniques such as line work and inside decoration within blown structures.
Students should have prior experience with borosilicate glass.
Total cost of the workshop is $1,094.50 per person ($995.00 + tax). There is a $302.50 deposit ($275.00 + tax) required to reserve your seat. Please note that $150 of the tuition is non-refundable. All materials are included.
