Captured is Master Metal Artist, Thomas Mann’s inventive and revelatory 1 day tour of the cold connection technique he has been employing in his work for more than 30 years. At the end of this workshop you will have completed a beautiful glass cabochon pendant complimented by it’s clever custom metal mounting — both designed and fabricated by YOU as you explored Mann's unique approach to the design and fabrication of a NO HEAT/COLD CONNECTION solution to stone and object settings.

You’ll encounter his perspective on riveting, slots and tabs, and especially his very personal “miniature bolting system “ You’ll see demonstrations of these and other innovative cold connection solutions as you learn to make the back of your finished piece, as beautiful as the front!

Students are encouraged to bring their own cabochon. They can be glass or stone, as long as they have a flat back.

Your little glass/stone gem will be strapped, trapped, wired, wrapped…captured, caught, and all hand-wrought!

Class tuition is $225.50 (includes tax) and includes studio practice time and a class kit.
