Level: Beginner

In our pendant class, we explore the next step in glass-working techniques. We will focus on the bead as a canvas for exploring glass, as these beads teach us how to work "off-mandrel" or off the end of a rod of glass, in order to make larger solid pieces. We will learn about pendants, hooks, glass pontils, lenses, color application, and other basic techniques. This class serves as an introduction to borosilicate (Pyrex) and other types of glass.

Pendants is the second class in our Foundations series.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT CLASS: If you do decide to register, you’ll need to know/bring the following:

* A pair of UV-protected sunglasses

* Tie your hair back if it’s long

* Wear comfortable, cotton clothing (synthetics are flammable) and closed-toe shoes

* Bring a bottle of water

NEW COVID POLICIES: As a general rule of thumb, please do not come to class if you know you are sick or running a fever.

PICKING UP YOUR WORK: Glass needs to cool properly so there’s a 24 hour wait time for pick up. Any work left at the studio after 30 days will be considered abandoned. For the sake of keeping our small studio spacious and organized, abandoned items will be discarded appropriately.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Tuition IS refundable up to 24 hours before the scheduled class date…at which time the entire amount becomes NON-REFUNDABLE. Please make note of this.
